SWS Celebrates Award-Winning Employees Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion for Women’s History Month

Siebert Williams Shank & Co. (SWS) has been dedicated to celebrating the many contributions of women on Wall Street this Women’s History Month.

Suzanne Shank’s commitment to excellence is in the tradition of her mentor and co-founder to the firm, Muriel “Mickey” Siebert, the legendary investor who was the first woman to own a seat on the New York Stock Exchange, and who felt that hiring women and minorities at a time when they were otherwise largely denied the opportunity of working on Wall Street was not merely a responsibility, but a competitive advantage. The firm is proud to build upon her legacy.

SWS prides itself in being over 61% woman-owned and having 31% women employees. This month, the leadership and workforce of SWS is celebrating its successful, award-winning commitment to Diversity & Inclusion.

The International Finance Review recently recognized SWS as their 2021 Inaugural US Diversity & Inclusion House of the Year. This was a huge milestone for the firm, as a diverse and inclusive workforce has been a priority since its inception. The honor speaks to the firm’s more frequent role as senior manager over the years on both municipal and corporate transactions and its ability to perform successful bookrunning mandates in syndicates among larger major banks.

SWS has hewed to the vision of rewarding women in leadership within the industry, and its the wisdom of its approach is apparent in the accolades by the accomplished women at the firm, including:
