Who We Are
Siebert Williams Shank & Co., LLC (SWS) is an independent non-bank financial services firm that offers investment banking, sales and trading, research, and advisory services. We provide customized solutions incorporating comprehensive financial advisory, capital raising and risk management guidance with the mission of delivering the highest level of value-added services to our clients. Dually headquartered in New York and Oakland, our firm is comprised of over 135 diverse professionals spanning over 27 offices across the United States.
SWS serves a broad spectrum of clients, including corporations, governments, municipalities and institutional investors.
SWS was formed in November 2019 to merge the complementary strengths and established track records of its predecessor firms—Siebert Cisneros Shank Co., L.L.C., founded in 1996, and The Williams Capital Group, L.P. founded in 1994. SWS is wholly owned by Shank Williams Cisneros & Co., LLC (SWC).

Our History
How It Started
1996
Siebert Williams Shank & Co., LLC, originally known as Siebert Brandford Shank & Co.,LLC, was founded in 1996 through a partnership between the late Muriel Siebert – the first woman to own a seat on the New York Stock Exchange and the first woman Superintendent of Banking for New York State - together with Napoleon Brandford III and Suzanne Shank.
2016
In August 2016, our firm formally changed its name to Siebert Cisneros Shank & Co., L.L.C. to reflect the addition of the Hon. Henry Cisneros, the first Latino mayor of San Antonio, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Clinton, former President and COO of Univision, and founder and Chairman of CityView, to the firm’s ownership group. In addition, the firm welcomed additional employees to be shareholders, including Hon. William C. Thompson, former Comptroller of the City of New York and Chief Administrative Officer and Senior Managing Director, Sean Duffy, Managing Director and Head of Institutional Sales and Trading, and Gary Hall, Senior Managing Director and National Head of Infrastructure and Public Finance.
2019
In November 2019, Siebert Cisneros Shank & Co., L.L.C. and The Williams Capital Group LP, merged to form Siebert Williams Shank & Co., LLC. This historic merger brought together two top-ranked firms in the nation.
The founders and CEOs of the former respective firms continue to serve vital leadership roles and to this day, the firm remains majority employee-owned.

2022
SWS and Apollo Global launched a major new strategic partnership. This partnership is designed to drive significant new revenue opportunities to SWS and includes a combined equity and credit investment from Apollo, along with its managed funds, that significantly increases the underwriting capacity of SWS. With the product expertise offered by Apollo, a leading global alternative asset manager, SWS can now even more broadly serve the financing, investment and liability management needs of its corporate and municipal clients with bespoke and innovative solutions.
